In this focused issue, we paid attention to “China’s Farewell to Executed Prisoner Donors”---the national program for diseased organ donation in China. On November 2, 2013, to ensure that the source of organs for transplantation meets the commonly accepted ethical standards in the world, members from the China Organ Transplant Committee (OTC) announced and signed the Hangzhou Resolution. HBSN witnessed and reported this historic moment and organized the focused issue to record the turning point. This issue includes interviews with Prof. Francis L. Delmonico,the president of The Transplantation Society (TTS) and Prof. Ronald Busuttil.Expert opinions are also presented by Profs. Masatoshi Makuuchi, J. Michael Millis et al.
