To celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary of our journal, Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition (HBSN), we have chosen a new special cover picture, that of a special cat by the name of “Cream”. How does this cat relate to HBSN journal? In the year of 2012, the young daughter of the HBSN Editor-in-Chief adopted an unfortunate new-born cat who is congenitally deaf upon birth. Almost at the same time, Prof. Mao decided to launch a new surgical and nutritional journal by the name of HBSN. After the launch, Cream and the journal have been growing together getting bigger, mature, and stronger. In the year of 2018, Cream suffered from intestinal obstruction from an incidentally-swallowed rubber ball. A laparotomy surgery was performed, part of the intestine was removed and the bowel was re-anastomosed. Professor Mao and his daughter were anxiously waiting outside the surgical room as the patient’s family. After a successful surgery, Cream got a speedy recovery by providing him with a balanced diet and nutrients. It was this surgery with nutritional support that saved Cream’s life, and made himself more closely related to our journal, surgical and nutrition. This year is the tenth-year birthday of both Cream and HBSN. To mark this special moment, Editor Professor Mao invited his daughter Rongzhi, Cream’s savior and supporter, to draw a picture to be the cover picture of the 10-Year Anniversary of HBSN. We couldn’t think of more suitable cover picture for this special 60th issue. The Vice President of National Academy of Painting Prof. Fan has joined the cover painting by post-scripting his calligraphy at the bottom of it. This cover picture is a wonderful representation of the journal and commemorates this special occasion.
