Zhiyong Guo, MD, PhD, is the Deputy Director of Organ Transplantation Lab in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, China. He holds the position of Attending of General Surgery in the hospital since 2013, where he was the resident of General Surgery from 2010 to 2012.
Dr. Guo has presented tremendous papers at both national and international scientific conference and has published over 30 contributions in peer reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Guo is active in basic and clinical research. He has currently participated in about 10 projects or researches with funding as Primary-investigators or Co-Investigators and taken supervisory responsibilities in many research projects for his PhD students.
His current research activities includes Application of regulatory T cells (Tregs) therapy in transplant tolerance, Role of intestine-derived factors in liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy, Inflammatory factors involved in liver ischemia re-perfusion injury and Novel diagnosis and prediction methods of acute rejection in transplant recipients.
