Edward Saltzman, MD

Dr. Edward Saltzman is the associate professor of Nutrition and chair of the Department of Nutrition Sciences at Tufts University's Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy as well as the chief of the Division of Clinical Nutrition at Tufts Medical Center. He is also a researcher in the Energy Metabolism Laboratory at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging. Dr. Saltzman earned his M.D. from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY, 1988. He specializes in internal medicine with focuses on how the nutrient composition of food influences how much we eat, as well as how food intake and energy expenditure change after the large weight loss observed following gastric bypass surgery.
